What the support includes
Technology Incubation is a CzechInvest project funded from the state budget through the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It gives selected tech start-ups a combination of direct financial support (up to CZK 4.5 million) and expert incubation services worth CZK 500,000 — workshops, consultations and incubation — without them having to give up equity in return.
For Learniva, this is an important milestone. The support lets us put more capacity into developing our own technology, grow the team and gradually bring interactive learning not only to individual students, but to schools and educational institutions as well.
What we’ll use it for
The main area is evaluating mathematical reasoning. We want Learniva to get ever better at recognising different correct approaches, identifying specific mistakes and responding to them appropriately — whether a student is solving an equation, working with the graph of a function or constructing a geometric figure.
The second is adaptive learning: a system that spots gaps in knowledge, returns to difficult topics and tailors practice to each student — rather than simply generating more exercises.
The third is working with schools and educational publishers. We want to help turn traditional textbooks and workbooks into interactive formats where students solve problems directly and get instant feedback. Our partner page explains how that collaboration works.
Why it matters
When a student gets a problem wrong, the answer alone often doesn’t reveal where things went wrong. Perhaps they misread the task, used the wrong formula, or made a small slip in an otherwise correct method.
Learniva grew out of founder Kristýna Coufalová’s eight years of tutoring maths one-to-one. An explanation tailored to one specific person can make a big difference — but it takes time, and for many families it is simply unaffordable. Our ambition is to use artificial intelligence to make that kind of support available to far more students, so they don’t just get marked right or wrong, but genuinely understand what they are doing.
