After months of development and testing, we have launched Learniva for students. The Czech learning platform brings together interactive maths tools, adaptive practice and an AI tutor that helps students understand not only what the right answer is, but above all how to get there.
When knowing it’s wrong isn’t enough
Imagine a student solving an equation and ending up with the wrong answer. A typical online test tells them they made a mistake — or perhaps shows the correct solution.
But the student still may not know whether they misunderstood how to rearrange the equation, flipped a sign or slipped up in a simple calculation. That is exactly why we are building Learniva: so that moments like this don’t end with just a red cross.
In the app, students work through a problem step by step, and Learniva works with each of those steps. If they get stuck or make a mistake, they can get an explanation or a hint that matches the specific problem.
Maths where you actually calculate and construct
Learniva isn’t just a chatbot where a student types a question and gets a generated answer back. It is an interactive environment where students actively do the maths.
In geometry, students build constructions from points, lines and circles. With functions, they work with graphs and watch how their shape changes. When solving equations and other calculation tasks, they can go step by step.
The app covers a wide range of maths topics — from basic practice through equations, functions and geometry to vectors, probability and statistics. You can try the individual modules in our demos.
Crucially, in maths there is often more than one correct path. Two students can reach the same result in different ways. That is why Learniva works with mathematical relationships and the individual steps of a solution — not just by comparing an answer against a single template.
Practice tailored to each student
Every student starts from a different place. One is preparing for secondary-school entrance exams, another for the school-leaving exam. Someone else needs to catch up on material they didn’t manage to grasp at school.
Learniva helps identify which topics to focus on and gradually adapts practice to the student’s results.
If, for example, a student keeps making mistakes when simplifying expressions, there is little point in simply setting ever harder equations. It can be more useful to take a step back and first consolidate the basics. That approach is the foundation of the adaptive learning we are developing at Learniva.
Why we built Learniva
Learniva was founded by Kristýna Coufalová, a Statistical Science graduate of the University of Oxford who spent eight years tutoring maths one-to-one.
Working with students, she saw again and again that the problem is rarely a lack of ability — more often it is a few misunderstood basics that the rest of the curriculum gradually builds on.
One-to-one tutoring can uncover these gaps and work on them. But not every student has access to a tutor of their own. Learniva was created to bring the benefits of a one-to-one approach to many more students through technology.
Try Learniva
Since September 2026, Learniva has been available to students online at app.learniva.io, right in the web browser. You can try it free for the first 5 days.
We will keep expanding and improving the platform based on real-world use and feedback from students, teachers and education partners. Our aim is for maths to be not just about memorised procedures and correct answers, but above all about understanding.
